Let’s Talk With An Aussie Winemaker
To the LedsonWinery and Vineyards in Kenwood we go to talk to head winemaker Andrew Bilenkij, an Aussie native who has been collaborating with Steve Ledson the last five years in turning out a very nice range of tasty wines.
Last night’s dinner? Mongolian lamb and Agadashi tofu.
A little elaborate for a home dinner? A self-deprecating laugh. My wife Kendyl is a chef with her own catering biz, so I’m a very lucky guy in that most dinners are great.
Best thing you like about living in Sonoma? It’s got a great small town feel but we got the proximity to any big city venue, restaurant or event. Also, it’s a great place to grow excellent zinfandel.
Favorite music? Looks at his phone.. Old Crow Medicine Show – a great bluegrass band.
Favorite drink besides wine? I like a cold Negroni.
Final thoughts? Just want to say what a great collaborator Steve Ledson has been. Been here five years and it just keeps getting better.
