Sells Out Fast…

After attending incredible food and wine events on both coasts for a bunch of years, I’m. still in a bit of awe and amazement how fast special event dinners sell out so quickly. I mean, they’re not cheap, we’re talking $3 to $500  bucks a dinner, maybe more with your wine choices.
While being privileged to attend some of these meals, I have come to realize why these dinners sell out so fast. It really is a special occasion that will leave lasting memories. Take for example an upcoming dinner that is happening at Boulud Sud Miami on Thursday, Feb 20 , 7 PM on the opening night of the South Beach Food and Wine Event. Combining the chef talents of Daniel Boulud and Chicago’s Lee Wolen, it was no surprise that it sold out within minutes.
Both chefs specialize in getting the most out of the freshest, high end ingredients as possible, with Daniel giving a slight lean to his French roots, while Lee will no doubt give a slight lean to the Italian fare he serves at his Chicago restaurants, Boka and Alla Vita.
Having had the pleasure of dining at Boulud’s South Miami dinner several years ago, I can attest how special Daniel made his diners feel as he came out of the kitchen several times to make sure everyone was feeling good and liked what they were serving. Was also impressed with the classy decor and atmosphere Boulud Sud’s Miami  location had. Too many chefs when they expand their empires either don’t give a damn, stick their name on the property, take the check and run. Or conversely try and stamp their brand on the space without considering where and whom they are serving.
But Boulud obviously cares and designed the space with Miami in mind. Lots of terrific seafood on the menu and a very nice, bright atmosphere of light colors on the walls, tables and chairs, with lots of sunlight streaming in thru the windows. And if you arrive early, check out Boulud Sud Miami’s stylish cocktail lounge next door and have a pre-dinner cocktail. As mentioned above, this year’s dinner sold out fast, so for 2026, keep tabs on the South Beach Food site, keep your credit card at the ready and buy a once in a lifetime dinner. You won’t regret it. Especially at Boulud Sud Miami. Cheers.
