Father’s Day Luncheon…

The Insider was off to the Hall Winery where guest chef Ken Frank of La Toque hosted A Taste of Hall luncheon. Chef Frank led us through three tasty courses which started with a Garden Vegetable Salad that paired great with Hall’s Walt Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. Second course was a New York Steak with Fiscalini Pearls that paired with a couple of Hall’s Cabs – 2013’s 1873, and 2014’s Jack’s Masterpiece with the Insider giving a slight nod to the 1873 for a bit longer finish. Dessert was a Silverado Trail Strawberry Pavlova which had really fresh strawberries.

When Chef Frank was demonstrating how to cook a steak, the Insider asked, sip of wine or bite of steak first?
“Silly question,” Chef Frank laughed.. and the Insider finished the sentence as Jimmy McGill says, “it’s all good man.”
