Help Beat Cancer …
The V Foundation is an organization that does great work in supporting all areas of cancer research and help. And since they were the benefactor of Epicurean Sonoma, it was easy to get behind its special events on the March 31-April 2nd weekend. Chef, Jaron Dubinsky of Montage Resort in Sonoma will be participating in a bunch of events, culminating in the Epic Feast and Auction at Montage on April 2. The Epic Feast will feature a decadent feast paired with exceptional wines from Sonoma. The Insider thought it’d be cool to get in touch with chef Jaron and get him to do the NSI quiz, which he was happy to do. Cheers and enjoy.
What was last night’s dinner? Tacos. I have a tortilla press at home so I can make fresh tortillas. I made beef cheek tacos with habanero salsa.
What’s your favorite drink? Depends on my mood, but I guess if I have to choose one, it’s a spicy Bloody Mary.
What’s your favorite music? Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of classical and jazz in my car and office.
What’s your favorite place to eat in Sonoma besides Montage? I eat a lot of Indian food. I go to a Himalayan restaurant in Windsor typically.
What makes a great restaurant? Teamwork. You need everyone on the same page in terms of serving, strategy, engagement, talent and attitude.
Favorite thing about working and living in Sonoma? The Community, the people and the amazing bounty of local ingredients we have at our fingertips to make incredible meals.
Any brush with celebrity? I once brushed shoulders with the Rock and Sylvester Stallone in Cabo. They were both incredible human beings.
Any restaurant, wine or trip on your bucket list? I’d love to go to the F1 formula race in Monte Carlo and relax on a yacht while sipping champagne and indulging in caviar. And after that if there is time, a side trip down to Bordeaux and Provence would be amazing.
Final thoughts? I want to say how honored and humbled I am to be part of the Sonoma Epicurean. What an unbelievable event to be part of!
